Nutrient medium for microbiological industry

Protein hydrolysates (HP) are used as a source of amino nitrogen in various nutrient media, including those for the cultivation of microorganisms having special requirements for content of the nutrient medium. Nowadays HPs are mostly widespread at the production of: Probiotics for food, pharmaceuticals and feeding industries; Microbiological fertilizers; Starter cultures for milk and meat industries, Enzymes and Vaccines; Bioproducts for clearance of industrial and domestic water.

Usage of HP as the growth inducers (nitrogen-containing components) of nutrient media for microorganisms cultivation can increase process efficiency by up to 10-15%

Foodstuff production

HPs are required to produce functional, sport, dietetical and preventive nutrition, and also HPs are used to improve consumer properties as well as to increase the biological value of regular foodstuff.
The choice of HP type for foodstuff production depends on the targets set by the facility. SYMBIO with partners consults manufacturers individually. There are ready solutions, recommendations, recipes etc. for many purposes.

Baking industry

HP improves the rheological properties of dough (elasticity, plasticity, resilience, viscosity). Adding of 1-2% of protein hydrolysates decreases doughing time and increases the volume of the bread baked as effectively as using cysteine and ascorbic acid which are often used for getting large volumes of bread.

Feeds and treats for pets

HP are used in the production of Wet pet food, snacks, hypoallergenic and medical diets, beverages etc.

HP are necessary for:

Feeding additives, premixes for farm animals, poultry and fish

Feeding additives, premixes with HP for farm animals, poultry and fish are used in the production of pre-starter and starter feeds along with liquid feed additives. HP notably increases feeding and biological value of ready-made feeds

Adding 3 to 15% of protein hydrolysates in starter feedstuffs and in calf and pigs milk replacers allows to reach same growth indexes as those after using standard feedstuffs, but the mass gain cost is much lower. These protein Hydrolysates are easily digested, lacking anti-nutritive activity and allow to maintain bowels health.

Functional beverages production

Hypoallergenic protein beverages from grain cultures

New production technology consists in protease complex usage for conduction of plant protein enzymatic hydrolysis simultaneously with starch dilution and saccharification while producing grain beverages. As a result of such a processing method, the beverages contain additional hydrolysed protein in hypoallergenic and absolutely available form.
In particular, new technology allows a manufacturer to produce grain beverages from wheat and other more affordable raw products because it eliminates the problems of gluten intolerance and its high allergenic potency.

Hypoallergenic protein beverages on a juice and HP base. Examples.

A glass of tomato or any other vegetable juice (200 g.) with a teaspoon of HP (approximately 4 g.) has the same taste as a beverage without protein. The protein value of such a beverage is the same as that of a bowl of a rich soup with meat (the glass contains “proteins of 35-40 g of meat”). People with physical and emotional overload (every person nowadays), elderly people etc. require beverages with 150 – 200% HP dosage.
